Only 30 minutes from Puebla, Atlixco is a pretty little town with very nice weather, great cecina (a type of cured meat), and lots of nurseries which you can stroll through at will (and if you’re in the plant market, they start at about $7 pesos each). The town is perfect for a relaxing day spent strolling through rows and rows of flowers, buying cascarones (confetti-filled eggshells) and chasing down your friends, and eating ice cream in such odd flavors as rose petal.
